v1-8 It is shameful for believers to enter civil lawsuits regarding financial/property disputes against other believers before secular magistrates.
v9-11 True believers do not continue in unrighteous living.
v12-20 Various appetites are part of being human. Two of the strongest are food and sex, and both are to be governed concerning physical and moral behavior. Gluttony and sexual immorality are sins with physical and moral consequences.
