v1-5 – Paul knows the Corinthian’s readiness to participate in the collection for the Christian in Jerusalem, but he also knows the human weakness to delay or procrastinate upon good intentions. Therefore he is sending them instructions and a team to prepare the collection before his arrival.
v6-10 – The law of giving is related to the law of the harvest. The more that is sown, the greater harvest that will result. The bottom line is that no one can out-give God, and he is able to supply every need.
v11-15 – Meeting the needs of others through generosity results in thanksgiving and glory to God from both the recipient and the giver for his overflowing grace.
