2 Corinthians 8
There is a clear shift of topics from chapters 1-7, where Paul explains his ministry, and chapters 8-9, where he instructs giving. These two chapters lay out the need to give and give generously.

v1-7 Paul tells the Corinthian church about the amazing example of grace-giving done by the churches in Macedonia. He encourages the Corinthians to imitate them and complete the work of grace-giving.
v8-12 The matter of giving is evidence of love, and the greatest act of love is demonstrated by Christ giving of himself so we may experience true riches.
v13-15 The practical outcome of this offering is to meet the basic needs of the saints in Jerusalem. Christianity is a family, and we are expected to meet the needs of brothers and sisters when we see a genuine lack of necessity or experience a substantial trial.
v16-24 These final verses are instructions about Titus and his team who will be coming to collect this offering which is proof of your love.
